He has also represented the Government of India in various international forums like International Energy Forum (IEF), Global Counter Terrorism Forum (GCTF), Asean Regional Forum (ARF), UNIDO etc.

Lt Gen Balbir Singh Sandhu, AVSM, VSM was the Director General of Supplies and Transport at Army Headquarters, IHQ of Ministry of Defence (Army) prior to his superannuation in May 2017. He is also the recipient of Ati Vashisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and Vashisht Seva Medal for his distinguished service. During his career spanning 38 years, he held number of prestigious command, staff and instructional appointments and served extensively in operational and Counter Insurgency Areas. He has attended all important professional courses of instruction including Defence Services Staff College, the Higher Command and the National Defence College Courses.

Mr Taksande Graduated in Electrical Engineering from Visweswaryya Regional College of Engineering Nagpur in the year 1978 ( Now VNIT Nagpur). Joined BHEL in 1978.Two years experience in manufacturing of electrical equipment at BHEL Bhopal. He joined CEA (Central Electricity Authority) in the Year 1980 as Assistant Director Grade A through IES ( Indian Engineering services).
